The training landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is in the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school product is not the only helpful means of studying. Their NCV programmes are designed for students who would like to begin their journey towards a satisfying career early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Office for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, with regards to their offering.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are supplied at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a 3-yr length.

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites

These programs start off at NCV level 2 along with the bare minimum requirement would then be Grade nine certificate with a pass in Mathematics.

As soon as the student finishes NCVLevel two, they'd then have attained a grade 10 certification. NCV Level 3 would be grade eleven and NCV Level 4 is grade 12.

NCV Level four is at the exit level, becoming equivalent to a Countrywide Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade nine is on NQF level 1. Our NCV programmes start NCV stage here 2 and that is equivalent to an NQF level 2.

On which kind of students are fitted to these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that standard education just isn't necessarily the one way of getting an artisan or turning out to be certified therefore if a student knows from an early age what their passions are, the NCV programme is in fact perfectly suited for that student.

False Bay TVET College will assist the student to become qualified in his field of study engineering interest. Students who want to become entrepreneurs will also have access to their Centre of Entrepreneurship on the Westlake Campus.
